That is according to ScanSafe’s Global Threat Report on February 2007. Unproductive simply means that the sites visited are not in line with the work of the company. Unproductive sites include :

online chat

gambling

music

porn

dating & relationships

webmail

During sporting events like the Super Bowl and World Cup, gambling and sporting sites will top the list. ScanSafe saw a traffic increase of 77% in US based request to gambling and sporting sites during the week before Super Bowl.

The highly unnecessary internet usage risks the company to exposure of :

legal liability

disclosure of confidential information

breaches of compliance requirements

unnecessary bandwidth consumption

Did you know that MSN is the most threatened IM in the world? and it has been the No.1 since February 2006. A total of 54% of unique threats were blocked for MSN while 21% went to Yahoo.

radiusIM is all about location. It’s a free web service that shows you who’s around and let’s you IM them. The cool thing is :

Take only 30 seconds to sign up, 30 seconds to log in

Download nothing

See where your friends are and who else is around

Use your AIM, MSN, Yahoo and Google Talk accounts

Add friends to the radiusIM list window. Log in to MSN, Yahoo, AOL and Google Talk at the same time.

Check out other radiusIM users that shows up in the area of the map that you are in. Drag or zoom to another location to check out new users from other areas.

eBuddy is a free web based messenger that enables you to chat with your MSN, Yahoo and AIM buddies. No downloads or registration required! All you need is a Javascript enabled browser. You can access eBuddy from any computer or location and it even works behind a firewall. Whether you’re at home, school, at the library or at work, surf over to eBuddy and login with your account to start chatting. When you’re on the road, outdoors or traveling you can use the mobile version of eBuddy to chat with your buddies.

Below are example screenshots of my own.

Here’s the first page of the web version. Choose the IM that you want to connect to. Wait for a while.

and walla! MSN Messenger on the web.

It’s exactly the same process in Yahoo! and AIM. All features are there. Even the smilies.

If you have xHTML or WAP 2.0 enabled browser on your mobile phone, surf to http://mob.ebuddy.com and this is how it will look like.

Even if it is a WAP 1.1 (or higher) enabled browser, you can still use eBuddy. Just go to http://wap.ebuddy.com

eBuddy
Some people use it more often than others. I use it too but only a few repeated ones. Here are several of the most common acronyms that I use when I’m IM-ing with my friends.

brb – be right back
