Serif



Serif fonts have curls or tails at the end of each letter. Use this font type in titles. Why? Cause serif fonts take a bit longer to digest. Gets the mind ready for whatever that’s next.

Sans-serif



Sans-serif, on the other hand, has no tail. This improves readability speed so it’s suitable for texts of sentences. The minimum text size for any text is 14 pt. This will help your powerpoint presentations to get the message across efficiently.

Keep it composed and analyzable. The most important thing is to focus on getting the message across. Distractions from lousy templates with low quality pictures will give others a sense of disconnection. Keep it clean, bulletize your lists, be consistent on fonts, colour and background. Limit punctuation and avoid putting words in all capital letters. Empty space on the slide will enhance readability. Use contrasting colors for text and background. Dark text on a light background is best. Patterned backgrounds can reduce readability of text.

Keywords



Use only key information. Period. Having to spend more than 2 minutes on a slide equals to yawns and thoughts of ‘hmm… i think I’ll have burritos at Pablo’s for lunch’ during the presentation.

Slide transitions



‘hmm.. let’s do something flashy. Lets have the title fly in from the bottom with the sound of drums’. FORGET IT! It’s old stuff. Maybe if it were the 80′s it will win you clients like drinking water, but now’s the 21st century. Having animations and sound effects will only impact the presentation negatively and you lose credibilty. Value in content will impress most.

Images



Only use high quality images. Low quality pixelated photos will only weaken the message. I have made a post on 9 reliable gigantic websites where you can get reusable high quality images for free. Use them.

Don’t read the whole slide



Only the title. The pool of text after the title is for the audience. Do it professionally. Relax and keep yourself composed at all times. Keep the audience motivated and try your very best to look like you’ve burnt a kilo of midnight oil preparing the presentation for your audience.

Body posture



Face the audience. Speak only after each successful page load. Don’t talk to the slide while checking. The audience may not hear your words clearly.

Keep it cool



For example, you’re at slide 11 and you forgot point number 5 and 6. Cover up and act cool. Do it like as if it’s in the plan. The last thing you wanna do is say ‘sorry’. That’s why simplicity is the number 1 factor in giving out steady presentations. When people can read something easily, they will understand what you want them to. Most importantly, have fun! =)

Keep pets off furniture



Can’t keep Snoopy off your brand-new sofa? Place a piece of aluminum foil on the seat cushions, and after one try at settling down on the noisy surface, your pet will no longer consider it a comfy place to snooze.

Protect a child’s mattress



As any parent of a potty-trained youngster knows, accidents happen. When they happen in bed, however, you can spare the mattress — even if you don’t have a plastic protector available. First, lay several sheets of aluminum foil across the width of the mattress. Then, cover them with a good-sized beach towel. Finally, attach the mattress pad and bottom sheet.

Clean jewelry



To clean your jewelry, simply line a small bowl with aluminum foil. Fill the bowl with hot water and mix in one tablespoon of bleach-free powdered laundry detergent (not liquid), such as Tide. Put the jewelry in the solution and let it soak for one minute. Rinse well and air-dry. Keep paint off doorknobs



When you’re painting a door, aluminum foil is great for wrapping doorknobs to keep paint off them. Overlap the foil onto the door when you wrap the knob, then run a sharp utility knife around the base of the knob to trim the foil. That way you can paint right up to the edge of the knob. In addition to wrapping knobs on the doors that you’ll paint, wrap all the doorknobs that are along the route to where you will clean your hands and brushes.

Keep a paintbrush wet



Going to continue painting tomorrow morning? Don’t bother to clean the brush — just squeeze out the excess paint and wrap the brush tightly in aluminum foil (or plastic wrap). Use a rubber band to hold the foil tightly at the base of the handle. For extended wet-brush storage, think paintbrush Popsicle, and toss the wrapped brush in the freezer. But don’t forget to defrost the brush for an hour or so before you paint.

Here’s the most basic thing. 1 CD and 1 A4 paper.

Place the CD in the center. Keep the sides as symmetrical as possible.

Step 3

Make sure the width of the folded side is as wide as the CD.

Step 4

Fold the remaining side.

Step 5

Making wings needs practice. Try to make the sides triangular.

Step 6

Look behind. Again, keep it as symmetrical as possible. Especially the folded parts.

Step 7

After you’re done, turn back to the front and fold the corners of the top part. Not too much.

Step 8

Insert the top part in between the wings.

Step 9

Viola! You’re done! Have fun writing whatever you want on it. =)
